Default Devastated

Whilst hoovering the car earlier on, somehow Finley let the dog out of the kitchen and before i know whats going on, Murphy been run over outside our house

Tried to get him off the road, he bit me a few times, got a nasty chunk missing off my face and arm is mangled a bit, but poor thing was really yelping and looked absolutely petrified.

Driver of the car stopped, got out, i was trying to pick dog up then she got back in her car and fucked off

Straight to vet, hes been sedated and X-rayed and hes got extensive pelvic fractures to both sides awaiting a phonecall from orthopaedic surgeon vet who is trying to sort it out with the insurance company to see if they are going to pay for it ( first quote from a clinic was 5k!)

So had a really shit day, and feeling very shaken and shocked still.

Gutted arent the words

Sarah.

I just feel wrecked, im still shaking and still finding it hard to believe whats happened, went to see him in the vets, hes out of it in a cage, which is for the best at the minute until the insurance decide whats going on and we get a price for his surgery.

I keep going over and over in my head whats happened, why did i decide to hoover the bloody car today

Fingers crossed the insurance will see him back to health soon

I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong here, but as i understood it, the driver could be of interest to the police for leaving the scene of an accident?

I seem to remember there's something like that which applies to dogs but not cats?

Either which way, main thing now is to hope he gets sorted!

Ive reported her, but i didnt get the reg, because she fucked off so quick and i was more concerned with Murphy.

By law you have to report an accident involving a dog, so she has left the scene and not reported, so broken the law twice. I hope she feels bad, dont give a toss if its written her 59 plate Jag off if im honest

Very brave of you to carry on getting the dog off of the road even though it was so scared it was "attacking" you.

I hope both you and Woof make a full recovery.

I didnt think anything other than i needed to move him, cos he was laid in the road, i couldnt just leave him, instinct i guess, just like his instinct will have been to attack me due to fear, managed to keep hold of him too, which probably did me no favour at all, but it all happened so fast i dont really know when i think back

I think your wrong there. Pretty sure it's the other way around, she could report you to the police for not being in control of it in a public place. A dog like that should never be in the position where it's able to run in the road. Could have just as easily attacked a child or something.

Sorry to hear about it being run over though.

really sorry to hear whats happened and all the best as to what happens.

Take it there wont be any cctv anywhere or anything that could have picked up the bitch driving off or any neighbours who saw it?!

As said well done for still getting him our the road despite what he did to u, tis an unfortunate reflex that anydog could have!! All the best for both of u, cant imagine how i'd feel if either of my 2 had the same thing happen

She actually has 24 hours to report the accident. I highly doubt she did it on purpose. And as the dog was going scitzo and biting you I think I'd of done one too!!

ahhh, shit, truly horrible thing to happen and cant have been nice to see. Hope he gets over it, you did well keeping your head in the old 'fight or flight' situation, alot of people would have just panic'd and made the whole thing worse. fingers crossed for him. I'll never forget watching a dog getting knocked over near me, this little girl in a car park was shouting it to come back and it thought it was a game, I tried to help by putting myself in its way to try slowly corner it but the more she screamed the more the dog got aggitated, it bolted into main road and boom, horrible noise of animal on plastic and the most gut wrenching welp. Girl was distraught, we picked him up and took him to vet for her. Would hate for Albert to get hurt this way. Make sure you keep us all up to speed.
