Very good quality and will do 550 BHP easy. I think they are rated to 850BHP.

As far as I am aware, PEC just like all the other cheap steel rods from China etc should be fine for 550bhp+

But that said, so are the standard YB rods, so I would just use them for this application personally.

Unless the rods are junk, power rarely kills rods.

RPM's can do.

And std Cossie rods are already pretty good.

The thing about going for another type of rods is due he is changing the length of the rod. SO are they cheap rods or good quality rods?

Probably a bit of both.

ive used plenty op what seem cheap rods in Subarus with no problems. Cheapest is prob around £230 a set if you can get a good deal.

The rods in my own V8 were US $450 for a set of 8, and carry a much larger ( re: heavier ) piston than most 4 cyl cars will, and Ive had no problems although only revving to about 7300rpm.

Lots of people knock the cheap rods because they are cheap. Havent heard of too many failures though.

If you want the best though, buy Carillo or similar. But HP doesnt kill rods, rpm's do. So if its a crazy screamer you are building, buy the best. For most other applciations, I'd guess the cheaper rods would be fine
