Ive got a Pinto turbo full Cosworth bottom end in my Escort mk2, you can run stock internals with low boost if carful and on a budget using EFI Injection.
Pic of mine.

Does that handle well? I ask becuse the pinto is heavy so is it too heavy or is it fine?

Jondell is getting 230 hp from a 2ltr i think but as you say big ŁŁ. You should see 170 flywheel hp with standard botton end lightened and ballanced , 11.1 CR- a good Group 1 head 38 ex 44 inlet-Group 1 cam- a pair of 45 DCOE,s and a good manifold.

You can get a log manifold made up for a few hundred quid or you can try get a tubotechnics type cast but these are geting very rare.

Depends what power and how much money you want to spend, base it on the EFI Injection maybe then go Megasquirt. .
