pmsl - they sound as bad as powergen!

they sent me a bill for £360!!! bearing in mind we are up to date with payments.

I rang them one woman says basically thats how much we owe blah blah we better pay it. I ask her to tell me if last payment was recieved her reply was "i don't know i can't look into the bill because i'm not in billing??" so i asked to be put through to billing... "i don't know if i can do that... i'll try" pmsl turns out we owe £60 which is this months

NOW Seven Trent Water is COMPLETELY different!!

They sent me an estimated bill for £300 for 6 months??
Called them up "our apologises we'll send you a meter reading bill blah blah"
didn't hear from them for 2-3 months
called yesterday they said "your balance is zero, we have wrote the bill off due to our mistakes!" WICKED!!!!

Have I missed something here? Why the hell are you chasing them for a bill?

Keep notes of the times you have called, and who you spoke to asking for a bill and then forget it.

Be prepared for a bill to arrive, I'm sure you can take a guess at how much to keep by, and as long as you do keep that money somewhere, leave it alone. It's just possible you might never get one. The time I would be starting to think I had got away with it is a couple of months after the 1 year - they will do an audit once a year to look for outstanding stuff, if you don't show up on that you might be OK.

Oh, and move house. Quick.

NEIL: Exactly the same happened to us where I work, after 2 years of chasing we had a call out of the blue one day saying "your gas bill has not been payed since 2002 please pay or you will be cut off"

Then they realised the bill wasn't in our name and had been being sent directly to the previous occupants home address. He had also been telling BG that he was no longer proprieter of the said property, but stil BG didn't get the point.

We ended up with a bill of about £1200 which ever so kindly let us spread over 3 months, TWATS!

St3V3_C,

Because these things come back to haunt you and in court it will simply be a no win situation. You took goods, you didnt pay, guilty as charged.

Best to pay up whilst its relatively affordable IMO

youve got me there!!

theres only me here so i pay my bills as and when i feel like it.

but specifically i agree with the part about putting the money aside you must have a rough idea of how much it will be.

well you could read your meter actually if its a new one.. and then youll know how much youve used??

I've contacted WatchDog before, about Genie Mobile (now knows as O2) when they first launched................ thing is, about 200 other people also contaaced WatchDog about them so I never heard anything back, they just publically shamed Genie on TV, and the next week Genie rang me with lots of apologies and offered me money off my bills to compensate

I know that, that's why I am suggesting have the money available for if and when they do ask.

Neil,If your wife is stressing over it, then yes, keep harrasing them.

not entirely so I believe, If you get to avoid them for a certain period of time 3rys then the debt becomes void.
