I can put up with bad spelling and grammar (just) but 'txt talk' pisses me off and makes me want to gauge my eyes out.

This forum has a spell-check when you type your message so there is no excuse. And, yes, the forum IS about cars, but spelling DOES matter. So does punctuation and grammar, but we can all turn more of a blind eye to those if we really have to.

As for anyone who thinks it doesn't matter, pause for a moment and think what will happen when everyone gives up on proper spelling and does their own thing. How will we communicate then?

And I seem to recall someone on TV said that humans became the dominant species only after we learned to communicate.

It pisses me off so much too.

In fact if something is spelt or worded so badly, as to be almost unreadable, then I simply won't bother reading it. If someone can't be bothered to construct a readable sentence, then I can't be bothered trying decipher it.

There is no excuse either!! - I mean any modern web browser either comes with, or can easily be installed with, an English dictionary which highlights spelling errors when posting. It's sheer laziness - if I don't know how to spell something, then I bloody Google it and find out! That way, not only can I spell it correctly, but I can educate myself at the same time.

My biggest gripe, is with people that type an endless torrent of words, with absolutely no proper sentences, punctuation, capital letters or paragraph breaks.

No joke, the other night on 8/10 Cats, Jimmy Carr said "brought" instead of "bought".

Fucking terrible.

I think its an english thing as i've never heard anyone say it up here? Only noticed it on forums etc... Until i seen Jimmy Carr saying it.

"Draw" instead of "Drawer" also annoys me. Mongos.
