Is there anything else you need to take of like the alternator? or is it just fairly straight forward as i'm doing mine today also.

on the cossie it's easier than on the V6 cars as you can get the bolts out wihtout having to dismantle the rest of the bracketry on the side of the engine

easy mate. Remove the 10mm bolt that holds the pipes in the rack. Remove the steering column,track rod ends then the 2 bolts that hold the rack to the bed.

the 2 bolts that hold the rack in place are the ones that are a bitch to get out on the 4wd cars as tey are further back than the 2wd cars
plus they are longer

just wondering does the rack have to come off to do the bushes , i've got some alloy ones to put on but not got round to yet ?

the bolts need to come out for sure, so you may have the same problems

if the rack does need to come out you need ot pull the passenger side out first, then twist it, then it will slide out of the drivers side because of the lump where the intermidiate shaft comes in
