Default Bath fitting against tiles question

just about ready to complete one of the bathrooms, i have been having a bit of trouble finding matching tiles (whole room is tiled) i don't really want to fit the bath flush to the tiles, would rather have it channeled a bit like it should be when the bath is installed before the tiles,,,, so, is there an easy-ish way to cut the tiles down a bit on the wall, or is there a super sealer that helps to combat this problem?

thanks in advance

You can get a tile cutting disc for a grinder, or a dremel cutter.

Matt, why didnt you call me?

As Steve has said, you can get a diamond blade that cuts tiles. Get one for a small 4" grinder and just got very slowly.

Theres not really a problem with fitting a bath up against the tiles as long as you use a good quality silicone that is anti-fingal.

i was thinking if sealed properly it should be ok but would rather spend a bit more time & know its done right.... its a spa bath so will have extra vibrations etc...

whichever way you do it, make sure you half fill the bath with water when putting the sealant on to set the mid point for the flex of the sealant.

i had good results with wickes master white sealant (not silicone, so very easy to work with and smooth out) that didn't lose it's colour, crack, go mouldy or anything after 18 months in my bathroom, but my brother did not get on as well with it. you can't really go wrong with unibond stuff either in my experience.

cheers Nick, i knew about the filling before sealing, i've seen a couple where thats not been done & the sealer splits after a while
theres a digital shower going into the bath so it has to be sealed properly.
