Has anyone done it? Bit chavvy but I fancy one as a seat for indoors and wondered if anyone has done it, and what kind of base they used - could it be done with a standard type of office chair?

id get an old office chair from the skip or somewhere and use that, maybe a bit of ply wood to bolt the seat and moving part to ![Confused](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

i bet it would be a piece of piss if you had a subframe for the seat

Was thinking along those lines, but don't want it looking like a bodge job.

My brother made my immaculate Recaros into 2 arm chairs. No sagging on the bolsters and were out of a 3 door being broken. They look really good and then he shipped them over here. Had to get a forklift to move the crates they were in as they weigh a tonne (not quite but nearly). Will see if he has any photos as they are in storage at the moment.

I have an Alfa 146 seat incl. runners that's welded on top of an office chair.
The tricky bit is to get the angle right, so you can sit comfortably with your legs at a 90 degree angle.
The other thing is that you have to try to build it as low as possible. Since the seat itself stacks a lot higher than the normal office chair "seat pad" you might have trouble getting your legs under a desk, even if the spring/damper is fully wound down...
