Default Advise, turbo technics warranty issues

Can any one advise me on a faulty turbo. I built a cosworth Anglia to go rallying. I purchased a (s114 t34 .55exhaust. marem shaft / incanel wast gate. Anti lag) off of turbo technics in Aug 2009. I have used it on 1 and half rallys (Aprox 100miles) and the turbo failed.
I limped back into servce, when removed the air filter found the nut on nose of the shaft sitting in the restrictor, with broken blades. When removed turbo Exhaust blades broken too.
Sent it back to turbo technics and they say a foreign body hit the exhaust blades caursing it to fail. Its going to cost me £1100 pounds to put right.
They are doing me a favoure at that cost as there is no warranty for motorsport.
They are implying my engine failed. There is nothing wrong with the engine good oil pres, no broken plug tips. etc.
Can anyone advise me what to do as this turbo cost a futune 6 months ago and cant justify spending another load of money to fix it.
As Turbo technics apparently dont warranty any turbos used for any kind of motorsport.
I wish i was told this before i bought it.!!!!!!!

Typical response to any turbo failure, either foreign body or oil issue. Turbo warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on.

I understand their lack of willingness to warranty for motorsport use, but the nut coming off is clearly their fault IMHO and nothing to do with the type of use it experienced surely?

all turbo companies are the same

my brand new one failed after 1000miles, they said it was becuase it was on a fresh engine build and i needed a pre turbo oil filter

so bought another turbo off them with inline filter, fired it up there was a rattle thought it was aux belt tensionor, i do less than 20 miles and the 1st time i boosted up to 14 psi the turbo siezed solid

there excuse was my car ran lean and siezed the turbo up

turbo companies are wankers full stop

im sure they have told him that the nut must have came off when some foreign body hit the exhaust wheel and stalled the turbo.. totally unscrews itself and just lays in their...

Yep, at first they said they could not find a reason for the failer and said that the nut must of come off when it stalled,
Then they rang me later with there bill and other excuses and implying that the nut was supplied seperated from the shaft (taken off.) and would not come off the shaft on its own.
Confused - no turbo - 4 miles of a 55 mile rally completed. - rally coming up in 3 weeks. and stalemate parting with £1100 to get my turbo back.
Any suggestions where to go to next.

if the only option is another turbo and no chance of them owning up to their turbo being at fault their is no way i would use the same company.. surely if they are offering free labour they are admitting some sort of responsability.. ?

Turbo technics talked me into going for the bullit proof anti lag turbo but never said it didnt come with any warranty.
They said they are doing me a big favour by not charging for machining/assembly or labour.

ring em back up and say you've spoken to trading standards and then try pushing them again and explain your giving them one last chance to sort it out before you hand it all over to trading standards. blah blah

see what they say

I had trouble with them with a standard T3 for my Series 1, primed it all properly, got the required oil pressure etc, started the engine and oil was pissing out from underneath it! phoned them up and they said send it back, sent it back and they never even phoned me to say sorry our fault etc, just sent another back in the post 3 days later, yes I was happy they replaced it but never apologised for there fuck up!

As above! 1100 notes ain't exactly throw away. I'd be gettin as much info on this as poss, trading standards etc. When you orinally conversed with them and they suggested what spec you went for the word motorsport must of been used so i would think that they would've had a responsibility to let you know the warranty didn't cover this. Does it state on your warranty this or is it just what they've told you?

Default Turbo

Ended up paying have the original fee to get my turbo sorted. I will give the next person i spoke to at t t his due's as i believe he did try his best to convince his boss to sort the problem. The problem i had is iam due out for a rally in a couple of weeks and needed to sort it. No real reason for failiure ( over spin or something due to mapping issues was the latest reason,) not convinced myself, but hope this one works.
