Help all of a sudden limewire is not working on my pc the icon is still on screen but when clicked on fails to open, mini icon used to be down on the task bar but is not there now does anyone have the same proplem at the moment? or knows a fix?

gutted have a few tunes on there help much appreciated

I had a problem with Limewire.
I downloaded 1 file for a sat nav for my phone, next thing my PC went off and nothing would happen! It knackered my PC well and truly So I got windows 7 installed and Limewire was no more

 

No bruv, won't even re-install now

Try having alook in the limewire folder which would be saved on your computer somewhere, prob in c drive under user programs, look for 'downloads' or 'my shared folder' or something like that, because i think the music gets saved to your computer aswell as the playlist on there

failing that go to start, search (right hand side of the menu) pictures, music and videos and should find any music on your pc (XP that is)

worth a try if you want your music from there

 

You guys should try Frostwire, i think its basically limewire pro but free!

problem with limewire is that the quality of music on it is usually piss poor. i generally use torrents or sometimes itunes/amazon

I will never use limewire again and would advise others not too.Its not just the virus that you can get its things you download but are not what you thought you were downloading if you get what I mean.My mate did a film,it turned out to be porn,my mrs the same and someone else I know was after smarteenies for his kids and that turned out to be childporn.I kid you not.

The pain ?? The guy got busted for an offence of counterfeiting two bank notes and they took his computer away.He was later charged with downloading indecent child images.
Not being allowed back with your family for nearly two years I would say as thats the pain ffs.Dont take the piss out of something I have posted when you dont know me or whats gone on.I merely posted my opinion of limewire and the problems it can cause.
As for mininova its a torrent source used for same purpose as limewire,so what ? It maybe no better in your eyes but it does for me.

If anyone is really that paranoid, you can even sign up to a slightly more expensive service with SSL encryption and then noone will be able to see what is being transferred from your usenet server to your home machine.

 

Just all go download Azureus client... hosts loads of torrent sites and you're not picking through google or a shitload of sites.
