Default cossie timing question.

finally got the car up an running today, thank god. but it does hesitate a little when you appy a bit of throttle, it wants to cut out. there's also a loud clicking noise coming from the distributor. is there a posability that the timing is out slightly?

Started the car this morning, but was lumpy. as soon as i touch the throttle it dies, why is this? and there is a wierd noise coming from the dizzy and coil when the car cuts out. the dizzy sounds like it's still spinning and sparking inside. and the coil makes a similar noise. could one of them if not both be fooked?
