Default Scrap metal prices - do these look ok?

Anyone able to tell me what they're getting for metal at the mo when weighing it in? I've got some Brass, steel, clean stainless steel, alloy wheels and batteries to cash in as need some pennies!

What's everyone getting for their metal?

Local place to me offered this today:

Brass - £2550 per ton
Stainless steel - £950 per ton
Alloys - £800 per ton
Aluminum - £650 per ton
Batteries - £300 per ton

That sound good bad or ugly? Reckon I have a good £500+ lying around, so could be a well worthwhile trip!

Howdo Scott

That was a place called EMR - European Metal Recycling on Pen Mill Trading Estate. Best prices on those metals above locally.

Not sure if they'll take a car? Never seen one going in there, they are more an already sorted metal place really. Worth a phone call if you can find a number for them

I get £750 for my aluminium and £900 for alloys. The price is the same at the 3 scrap dealers I've used, but only ever go to the one now as I know they measure it accurately and I'm sure the other 2 manage to fiddle a bit off.

The other items I couldn't comment on as I haven't weighed in any batteries, brass or stainless in over a year when the prices were virtually rock bottom.

Seems like their prices are pretty good, rang some more places today that were all less money.

Filled my Escort Van up today with a mix of stainless steel, 30kg brass bars, loads of aluminum, 10 odd car batteries, some alloys etc. Floor to ceiling, and the passenger space.

Total Escort van weight 2120 kgs

1.8d, no turbo. Was a struggle to even get off my drive!

Net result £780 in my pocket

Or more accurately, my brother's as most of the metal was his

not bad mate. did you find out the price on copper cable lol?

i use EMR in swindon, the batteries i weigh in are between 30kg and 45kg each, for a set of 4 30kg ones id get £30 usually, £7.50 per batt

last time i was there i got almost £80 for some copper cable, not stripped, houshold or whatever they class it as. got a fair bit collected again tho, but the price can change dramatically on a day to day basis.

This was ages ago Dan, and can't for the life of me remember now what it was then. Bit of gamble really when to take it in, phone your local one and see what they're offering
