Maybe your wife normally gives him something and he expected you to do the same?

Check the palms of her hands for callouses.

I always give tips, taxi, hairdressers, restaurants etc. I just see it as being generous and good manners, or even not being tight. I dont know i might be wrong, but isnt it 'normal' to tip, even if its just a little? Of course the size of the tip depends on the level of service and the person. I always wonder if taxi drivers and hairdressers actually expect a tip or not. Do they see you as kind/generous if you do, and tight and stinjy if you dont?

but why?

why do peole feel the need to hang about and get a tip?

i'll admit to loving it when i was at airbus but i never expected to get it

and if you didn't get the level of service you were expecting, shoudl't you be paying less rather than the agreed price for teh job?

I now get all my groceries from Tesco delivered, starting at only Ł3 delivery, it's a bargain.

And NO, I don't tip, it's not even a particularly cheap supermarket. You're paying Tesco prices, you're paying for delivery. It's absolutely ACE and I couldn't do without it, but no tip from me sorry guys.

Fuck no, I would tip a waitress etc if I went out for a meal and had excellent service, but if they were just doing nothing outside of their job then why would I? A place I went to once had service charge on the bottom of the bill, the service wasn't anything special. I scrubbed it off and paid cash to the penny of what the food cost

Proper Mr Scrooge me

Yeah i suppose your right there. I just tip out of habit really. If i had a feeling that they were expecting one from me, then i might think twice about it though.

I wouldnt go there again then mate, or you might just get a flob pie with your next meal if they recognise you.

Im all for complaining if somethings shit, but one thing i NEVER do is complain or moan to people who prepare your food. I know exactly what goes off there.

not had a delivery to the door yet but im tempted to order some things to see if they do the same up here!

i used to tip the hairdresser (do my own now so tipping myself for making me look like the crystal maze guy is fun! ) as shes one of my best mates mum.

other than that i wont tip anyone unless its like xmas time and its something that i feel generous about.

if i was to tip every driver then arnold clark, ford, dingbro and essport motor factors would have huge fucking expectations of my work and i'd be getting kicked the feck out of my yard!

Nah, Tesco drivers up here don't ask for tips.

As for tipping waitresses / waiters, when I worked in a pub the tips could double you wages.

Thats Ł10 to Ł20. Good times

I tip most of the delivery drivers who drop off takeaway(well they get to keep the change) and my hairdresser who gets a quid extra
