me and the dad want to start a winter project and i want to base it around an escort
prefable mk4 down as i want an old school look could peopel put up pics of the cars they think i should buy also im on a very tight budget i want a project so dont mind itf it is battered and dont wana spend no more then 500 tops and anythign less would be great 300 200 lol. anythign jsut would like to have a car to play around with and tinker with the dad
any help would be great cheers

i think an orion or a different mk4, not the usual 3 door ones would be great

saw an orion for sale in fast ford about a month ago (dont know if its still for sale) was £350 and looked in reasonable condition

yeeah i would do an orion as they look lovely. yeah like i said need as cheap as possible and yeah a covertiable would be good depeends on what the dad sais as he will want to drive it aswell so any other ways or cars that might be a good project

If it's just for a project you could get a cheap tidy mk4 bonus for that, and if its a long term project it wont matter about t&t, just give it a good look over.

xr3i cabs are cheap nowadays, hardtops are going for silly money though, a 5 door mk4 can be done really nicely for very little cash, just lowered, decent 15" alloys and some 90 spec RST recaros and back seats with 90 spec matching orion door cards and leccy windows

also a 2.0 conversion is a very cheap upgrade for the mk4

edit: i mean a 2.0 zetec conversion

cheersd lee yeah i am tempted jsut sumthing about the escort but i would love to sapp but money ya know.
and yeha i would do a cab straight up but theres sumthing about a hard top and i would do a 2.0l zetec conversion defo. jsut need the car in the first place.

carnt beat a cabby for the summer though, especially turbo ones, mine cost me £500 and cost me 3k to do up and i loved every minute of the car

yea i have vseen some very nice ones on ebay and just looked quickly with have a word with the dad but mean while if any ones comes up and sees one could they post it on here cheers for all your help guys

Never seen the attraction in a winter project, the nights are long and the garage is cold!!

Summer time is better, carnt beat a long warm evening in the garage with a couple of beers.

yeh rossco i do agree but dont worry i will be sensible will have a few radiators to keep me warm.
just have spare time and would rather use it on a car then the misses
