Finding owner of a car ( owner caught )

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Admitting fault to a incident is the worse thing to do, some insure companies will void your insurance if you do.
In the event of a incident it is up to them to gather the information from both parties and decide who is at fault.
Check your paper work as for some its in there, think it was either Tesco's or Greenlight that told me that.

Gents, a bump on the Tesco/Asda/Morrisons and any other bugger is a nonstop, no matter what the lazy sod in the nick tells you.
No wonder police get such a bad reputation.

Some wanker hit my BMW in the supermarket car park today
Now its only a minor scratch on the bumper but he was seen by a bloke who tried to stop him before he set of like a nutter to get out of this fellas way
I have the reg number of the car but just wondered if anyone had any ideas how i could trace the owner
Cheers Paul

20K+ Super Poster.
Usual bullshit from plod I'm afraid.
Ask to speak to the DATA CONTROLLER, the data protection act which he thinks STOPS him from giving the details, is actually the act that entitles you to it as you have shown "just cause", or "with pertinent cause".
In essence anyone who has a ligit reason for the info is not only entitled to it but the police are breaking thier own law by not giving it to you.
Sadly all too common the plod not knowing the law, the data controller knows the act inside out, so is best first port of call.
Just for refference, even if you don't go through them your insurers can and have to tell you.
