Timrud, in certain ways absolutely, hence the x factor analogy I used previously in this thread, some people just WANT to be wound up, so they let people they have never even met "get" to them, which I find hilarious personally just cause I have the strength of character myself that means I dont ever let silly things like x factor contestants or people on forums etc get to me.
But its very funny when other people do, just says SO much about how content they are or arent deep down IMHO
I think jedward are crap singers, so I personally wouldnt choose to listen to them, but some other people listen to them just so they can get annoyed at them, strange people IMHO but then by nature im a love not a fighter, I always assume the best of others until im proven wrong, rather than vice versa like a lot of folks choose to, which generally leads to themselves getting wound up or unhappy all the time it would appear.

The reason people get wound up? All they have to judge you on is what you write on here. And we both know the same sentence can be taken more than one way! Once people are antagonised your very good at goading them. Then you get an army of haters, then we end up where we are now....

Personally I never let anything that anyone posts on the internet get to me, why on earth would anyone do so? especially if its something as totally impersonal as talking about valve springs, if I was calling your mum a cunt or something then fair enough if it upsets you I suppose, but getting upset over someone chatting about valve springs really does demonstrate some issues with the reader not with the writer IMHO

Actually, I don't recall Mr Slim ever having done that, as he doesn't stoop so low as attempting to belittle people, he has Chip for that

atleast today i couldnt care a less as im now re naming f1 springs to cosworth dfv f1 valve springs incase any one thought me or joe or anyone else might be over exaggerating when we spec a build!!!

Testing the future
on the subject of valve springs (which we were once upon a time), why don't they have dampers? surely you could have a cunning system that varies the spring rate (by a moving seat under them that varies with engine speed or something) and the damping so that you can get the optimum compromise between valve closing, bounce elimination and cam shaft load/wear? don't know if anyone knows of any work in this area?

Dont particuarly like talking about myself, but for some reason loads of other people such as yourself do so, so I will reply on that subject as I think its rude not to when a comment is aimed at me, but its not something I enjoy talking about TBH, would much sooner stick to the engines and stuff, but for some reason Im just too fascinating for some people to resist.
