Default Engine management light on a 3dr staying on

been out 2day to look @ a 3dr for one of my m8's car was very clean and drove without any faults that we could see apart from the engine management light was on all the time

the bloke who's selling it said that it had only started to came on since he had the greys (403's) fitted to it 6mths ago and said it was fine b4 when on greens (803's) the car is running a L6 ecu if that may make a difference, the car to me seemed fine apart from the light being on constant

any suggestions on a post card

ps HE did say he was going to just take the bulb out but DIDN'T get round to it as yet

its something to do with when you write programs for the chips,, sometimes people dont remove the overboost safety light output

Was it on on intial start up and then come when boost applied. If this is the case then who chipped it hasn't taken out the overboost warning and it lights up but should go if you turn the key off and on again(obviously not whils't driving ). This is nothing to worry about as said above. If it is on ALL the time i not sure about that.Best speak to Stu.He the man.

The only problem with the light being on all the time is you wont know if there is a problem i.e a sensor down which would normally switch the light on to tell you there is a problem. As its on all the time you wont know this

HOW much would this cost to be removed AS it does seem to ok otherwise OR is it a case of a new chip with it removed.

i know when stu writes this programs, the light will not come on but he does sell off the shelf chips for grays!

its always worth having a remap for piece of mind though
