I've just been on a site to order some stuff, it asks for the usual card details, but also for the CVV number, the 3 digit code on the rear, does this sound dodgy ?, or am I worrying about nothing ?
Appreciate any help, as I've not got a clue, thanks

Every time I use my card online it asks for that. They need it to prove the card you've just used is 'in hand'

Phew seems like I am worrying about nothing, I just thought that with the number they could phone anyone pretending to be me and use my card, wipe out my account and get about 10 miles on the proceeds!!
Thanks,
tabetha

Yup as said, need it on nearly all card transactions now. I have to take it everytime I do a card for a customer, and whenever I log a card with a website, or buy over the phone/website, etc

Another thing that is getting common these days too is the mastercard securecode. A few big sites such as play.com use it now, basically where you set up a password too, and it asks for the password when ordering. Another good idea to make things that little bit safer!!

Did the site have the yellow lock icon in the bottom right hand side by the task bar

If so normally the sites are trusted but they can be hacked if you click on the wrong link sites

i have issues with paypal atm and if you click on there site enter your id and password

You get a advert first before entering your account WTF

piss poor online help
