What car was it that "got you hooked on motors"???
Lets keep it realistic here but as a kid or whatever what was the first car that you seen/went in that changed the way you viewed cars forever?
For me, it was my mates Dads Ford Sierra 3dr Cosworth in white. One day he just turned up out the back in this car that changed something with me more so than my mate. We all loved the car as much as each other but that car got me hooked on sports cars, my mate isnt interested in them anymore but even he says that car was special to us all.
We used to pester the life out of my mates dadto just take us out in the car for drives round the country lanes giving it pedal to the metal and we loved every second of it!
What was heartbreaking was that it failed an MOT and he then just discarded it outside his house for a couple of years before sending it to the scrappers, i was heart broken i would have bought that car in an absolute instant today.

Late night watching telly when I was a teenager the new sports channel here in Canada showed touring car racing one night.
I saw all these cars just SLAYING the competition with giant wings on the back of them. A few days later I saw my first Sierra (Merkur). they were too pricey for me at the time but once they dropped in price and I was working I bought one.
I still own it.

A 3DR Cossie when i was 8. went to my local ford dealers with my dad to get some parts, went in the show room to get some brochures, and there was a brand new 3DR, as a kid who liked cars to start with, seeing a whaletail was breathtaking, didnt have a clue what is was as an 8 year old obviously, but all i knew was it looked awesome. ive been the same since, hence why a moonstone 500 is my dream car.

My love of car's started when i was a baby, literally. My dad had a 2wd Saph, and he used to take me out in it as a baby when i couldn't sleep, and the cossie apparently used to make me sleepy.

are you pair sure ???
i was at ford motorsport boreham rsoc essex day when ford motorsport unveiled the escort cosworth to the public,i remember the day it was hot and sunny and the essex countryside was magnificent. we travelled all the way down from sunny cheshire in my mates mk1 astra gte and the pics of the car were in fast ford +the rsoc . the car was a pusher and did not drive but you could take pictures.
it was a group a car left hand drive rally car and because it was very early it looked slightly different to the actual car ford sold in the showrooms

I've always loved motors since i was a little boy sitting on my dads knee sterring the car(cant get away with that now days can ya).
But the moment i knew i was hooked on motors was my first ever trips out in one of my older mates Mk1 RS 2000.
Going sideways round a roundabout in the wet flat out with those lovely twin 40's screaming.
Oh to be 15 again.
Not a care in the world.

My mam was still wiping my nose when I went to the Motor show all them years ago so ..
I remember the Ford Probe was still a proto-type and it was in a huge globe thingy in the middle of the Ford stand.
Also the XJ220 was there at launch and so was a Redish Mclaren F1 ..
Didnt spend much time looking at Fords with Pram Handles when them bad boys where on display

I remember seeing a Lotus Carlton shoot past when i was about 7. Not sure how fast it was going (it was REALLY shifting) but i'd swear to a million mph.
The thundering noise sending shivers down my spine is what did it, and still does it to this day.

When I was a kid our neighbour had a black XR3, my dad had a Morris Ital
Second car I bought was a black MK3 XR3i, had a couple of sporty Peugeots after that, never owned a car newer than 1990, wouldn't part from Ford now, never had a breakdown in one

Always been mad about cars, had a huge toybox full of them, watched TV shows on them, read books on them, etc etc.. When I was around 7-8 my mum had a White 90-Spec MK4 XR3i at the time which I thought was mega cool and one day I got taken home from school by a friends dad in his wifes brand new White 90-Spec Series 2 and after that feeling of accelaration, I wanted one.
Cheers,

My dads saph cossie, way back in 90/91. I was only 4 but I remember it making me feel sick when he put his foot down, i was hooked on speed since then.
he's had everything going and loves his cars too, but he still has a soft spot for it.
