If you have a resting heart rate above 90bpm you will die yonger from heart problems than someone who has a 60bpm heart rate, of course diet plays a big part and heriditory problems.

In general have 2 people on the same /routine/diet/heriditory factors ruled out but one has a 90bpm resting rate the other 60bpm, the highers heart will expire first.

Yes i was joking about the kids

You said that the human heart only has a set amount of beats.... and that athletes have low resting heart rates to 'compensate' for the exertion....

complete BULLSHIT....

I mean exertion in terms of rapid heartbeat, the faster and longer it beats the stronger it should get thus lowering on resting. Remember a human being should in theory be in resting rate a big part of a 24hr timespan.

and maruisz is definately beatable, running out of oxygen after a couple of minutes of fighting could be his downfall,as ive said before its gonna take a lot of oxygen feed them big muscles for 3x5 minute rounds.

i have to agree with lee here, you seem to have read a book and then had someone fill out a diploma on the back of a cornflakes packet

i've not done any sort of education on the subject invovling college and stuff, but i think even i can understand what lee is on about and where you fall down

if your heart beats at a faster than normal rate then, yes, you will be prone to having more problems if you aren't used to it, but it's like you saying that v rated tyres will blow up as soon as they exceed their rated speed because they've only got so many revolutions

and don't forget that having a larger heart doesn't make you immune from problems, my mate died from having an enlarged heart and he was, by far and away the fitest bloke for his age group that anyone knew and hung about with an socialised with, other than the fact that he dropped dead while playing hockey, he did some work for the raf as well and went through their medical's often enough and nothing was detected

on the other hand, my cousin's bilt like a mini mariusz, 5 foot 8 and 18 stone, benched 250 kgs, used to run his own karate school, did the regulation 1,000 squats, 1,000 press up's and 1,000 squat thrusts as a warm up before doing his training and is as fit as the proverbial ox, and is now the other side of 50, but he's still as strong as fuck and still built like a brick outhouse, how many heartbeats does he have left then?

besides, you said that your heartbeat theory wasn't a theory, how's that work then?

i know you've taken some flack from the lieks of chip etc, but this time aruond i think you need to provide some cast iron proof about matters before you have to backpedal

Dojj i think you have all failed to grasp what i say.

Your heart if enlarged is not good.

If you excersise hard you are using doing yourself good as it is strengthning the muscle which in turn after a period should lower your resting heart rate as its become more efficient. Also as you get fitter your heart works better and you can go longer and longer.

Thats all i am saying, as for the maximum heart beats an athelete is in no worse a position to a non athelete as for using up their heart beats, the difference is the athelete will eat better thus having less heart issues. If they have a heart defect they didnt know of then death can occur on excersise. My comment was aimed at the ridiculous comment that this bloke will die by 40. (Which after reading his diet is quite likely now, thats me back peddling!)

The people who study science will always say this.

But remember its the part of the body which needs proper looking after.

To add the heart should as you get older get slower and slower, as a youngster you have a relative fast heartbeat compared to growing old, so if if it doesnt slow down go to the docs and get it checked as a resting rate of 100+ bpm requires beta blockers.

Dont waste them heartbeats folk.

you have a faster heartbeat as a youngester as you are smaller

same with mice having really quick heartbeats and elephands having really slow heartbeats, it's about volume of oxegynated blood per beat and the bodies ability to use it

if i've got the wording right, if you've got lots of blood in your body you will be able to provide more oxygen to it as it goes around, so you pump less, and if you have a small body you have less blood so it uses up the oxygen quicker

besides, how much pressure would the heart of a whale be under if it was beating 600 bpm

Seems like you've done a bit of reading but mis-quote yourself a lot and manage to drag loads out of context. Idea is there just give it a proof read before preaching...

Haven't seen the UFC threads bumped in a while though, what are people thinking on 107 this weekend? Penn or Sanchez? Guida/Florian?

Was it on five usa last week? I'm sure i was watching the last in the ulimate fighter series. Anyhoo.

I was really surprised how much kimbo has come on, he didn't look like an upside down turtle like he did in the 'house' He may have an interesting career ahead of him, unless his knees gives out.
I agree totally, no idea who jon jones was until last night. Seems very talented.

By the way, when's mariusz first fight? Anyone know.

So kids its best to be a couch potato and dont use up those valuable heartbeats LOL.
So how can a defib save someones life?surely if someone dies of heart attack from over exertion etc, then according to you their heart count is used up?so how can they be revived?and if what you say is true it would seem we could accurately tell how long we will live!amazing, im off to get my heart measured to check if ill get a telegram from the queen!
now obviously a heart will only beat so many times before it stops, but its not predetermined! If you discount death by anyway other than natural old age, then surely the better you look after it,excercise it,the longer it will last, much like keeping a cars engine in good nick.if you abuse the body,it will not last as long.
anyway,im off back to the internet ether.
