Out of curiosity, is there an oil pump available that wouldn't break up when pushed hard?

I don't like the idea of building the engine and the first time I push it hard the oil pump fails, I am on a budget any way so I can't afford to build 2 engines.

the oil pump will be fine if you never rev it past 7200 thats what the st170 rev limit is and they dont break every 5mins,and mine is limited to than with no probs

limit the RPM 7200.

there will be no problem

or alternatively if you do want to rev it higher get billet oil pump gears. You can get them from either Puma speed, AustenW (on here) or from the states.
