Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone on here has experience of using eagle H beam rods in a zetec turbo at all?
I have come accross a set for very good money so wondered if they are rated well?

 

As far as I know they are amongst the best. Simon Smail at Sitech racing specced my zetec turbo with them and he said they will be good for almost 400bhp.

 

Eagle amongst the best.... i wouldnt go as far as saying that. Measure them and weigh them before you do anything.

 

The Eagle rods I have used in the past have all been perfectly on spec size wise, no problems at all.

Lots and lots of people putting them in Zetec and Evo engines everyday, dont worry about it unless youre going for a monster power build, and if you are you wouldnt be putting budget rods in it anyway!

 

+1 there fine for most people but far from the best lol.

 

what are peoples views on farndon rods??

 

prob one of the best are farndon.....also arrow are mega

 

if you are building a big a spec zetec and want the best why no use wrc focus rods ??? good for 700ftlbs im told

 

do you know where you can get hold of them from gary?

cheers mate thought they were,iv been looking at them and farndon and arrow rods all simlar prices.

 

So for a budget, semi powerfull zetec then they are worth a look but if you want mega power spend more.
I want a reliable 350bhp so are they gona be any use?

 

yeah mate they will stand up to a good 350bhp i belive thats what crazycage runs in his and his has been well over 300bhp for some time and now going for 400 i belive so yeah will defo be fine mate

 

they will be fine and good upto 500hp im told !! but i dont run them i run the wrc focus rods

 

oh right sorry mate thought you was running the eagle rods. did you get them wrc ones from jamie then gary?

 

tbh mate jamie built the bottom end for me

 

ah right mate,also are you still using ford bearings or are you using acl or something like that? duno what to put in mine been told ford are the best to use

 

yes mate acl ,ford st170 head gasket and head bolts tho.

I use the current engine eagle rods ...
there was no trouble with it..(600+BHP)

 

there you go mate good at 600+bhp and cheap as chips .about Ł250.

 

so $ 370 plus shipping...
other component that fails will be faster than rods ...

out of interest what sort of revs are you doing ?? i keep mine down to 7200 and had no probs but mine is just a road car ,on your videos it sounds like your pulling near 9k

are you still runing ford oil pumps or are you on dry sump now mate?

 

now run dry sump....

why not just keep the standard pump and limit the revs to 7200 you wont have a prob there .the st170 rev limit is 7200 from fords .

 

I bought Titan kit.
but I think there is little pump (work properly anyway, only no vacum in the crankcase)
600 + BHP should be more volume...

if you need more power will be increased RPM...
