I'm a lucky boy!

I'm a lucky boy!
I feel like I've won the lotto! here's why,
Right, Some of my mates have allways been typical rich kids, getting there first car bought for em, £20k+ house deposits given to em etc, not me, I've had to work my balls off for everything, 80+ hour weeks at work and doing, almost , anything for a few quid here and there, and if you saw how much I owe on paper you'd ,
Not that my parents aint been good to me, but they've made me work for stuff (also , bearing in mind my dads a millionaire(through marriage), you'd of thought a bit of financial help would of come in usefull, but no, as soon as I turned 16 I was "on my own")
Now, I've allways been a bit jealous of my mates lack of debt and there ability to have houses and flats etc and tiny mortgages.
But, yesterday my mum came over to see me for a cuppa , 'cause it's so expensive around here (a 1 bed starter home is £140 000+) she's found some money thats been "put away for a rainy day" and is giving my little bro £15K for his house deposit , good lad as he's got no other way of getting on the property ladder, but now for the best bit, I've been outside in the wind, rain and dark trying to build my double garage in my garden that I've allways wanted, so far, I've only got the footings in and it's cost £800, but,my mum is giving me £3000 toward it! Chuffed to bits, That should pay for the bricks and roof, I've allready got a door and other bits, I should have it all up by mid feb with a bit of luck, thats one hell of a christmas present!
This may sound sad, but I've allways dreamt of a double garage in my garden with a gravel drive going up to it, and it's starting to become a reality.anyone of here not had much finacial help? or should we just expect it from our parents? what do ya recon?
Andy (now £3000 better off!)

Glad you have your garage money sorted.
Just getting my garage sorted too as we speak.
Got my doors sorted, money put away.
Just got to get the slab sorted.
No double for me though, just have to make do with 20ft-10ft.
not ideal but better than working in the rain fixing the car.

My mum has cleared my credit card a couple of times for me (£500 limit) and always tries to help but she's by no means rich and I appreciate any help I get so much because I too have to work for anything I want other than the little bit of help I get and althought these people getting 13k for their cars paid off etc think they're doing great now, just wait til that nan or parent ain't around no more. Sure they will prob get an inheritance but they'll spend it like water (whatever that phrase means!) and will soon have nothing. Then they'll use their great credit ratings to get credit so they can keep up the lifestyle they're used to and in the end will end up worse than any of us, all becuase they don't know the value of money.

Lets hope it all goes up well. Got your planning permission etc yet?
I've had to work for everything I've got and that's not a lot. I still live with my parents but have a new car and money to spend on internet, mobile etc and it's great for me. I'd love more but I'm happy how I am.
