Almera GTI.......any good?
Been looking at some Almera GTI's as they have a decent boot for my dogs and tools for work and also seem to have decent performance stats for very little money...... so getting it clogged up with mud daily on the building site wont matter if its only £600-700
Anyone ever owned one, any good?

i had them as old company car not bad but i found them a bit cramped for leg room and i didnt think they were all big or suited for a dog etc (my personal opinion) but then again depends on the size of the dog etc

3 mates have them as track cars, almost 150bhp for utter peanuts, all of them have done numerous trackdays with no problems at all, and driven them there and home again! Sums up how reliable they are, can't go wrong for the £ can you?!

I have a 10st Bullmastiff & a 7st German Shepherd mate
My Shepherd does not come out in the car anymore though due to her age......almost 11 years old, had her since 6 weeks old.
Going to have a look at one this eve....... Been reading up on reviews and they are meant to be really good handling cars too.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
My brother in law had one, was a belting car, even back then it was good value for money. Handling was sharp but would benefit from a drop and they have strutbraces as standard. Interiors are comfy enough and put together well enough but i found even at 5'11" the dash was too high/seat too low. I had to peer over the dash when maneouvering! For the money they are now you'd not go far wrong.

Top speed = 132mph
0-60 = 8.1
Average mpg = 35.2
Took one out a few hours ago..... quick and handle so well. I see what people mean when they say 'underated GTI' Handling reminded me very much of my old Pug 306 GTI-6 and speed was on par with an S2 RS Turbo.

I've got one.
For bang for buck, you will not find better, It's as simple as that.
Give it some simple breathing mods like a full exhaust and a set of coilovers and they will scare much, MUCH bigger things.
