Default Venting engine, gear, diff++ to same tank.

Initially on my car it was setup with one brake reservoir for front diff, one for gearbox and one for the transfer box.
Which means a total of 6 brake reservoirs in the engine bay, which again means it takes up alot of space.
The intention of these added brake reservoirs is to ventilate the diff, gearbox and transfer box.

So as i have a nice engine oil collector on the innerwing on the car, is there any arguments as to not run the diff/gear ventilation to this oil collector?

The oil collector has a 17mm breather hole, which i do think is sufficient for all these parts to breathe properly.
So backpressure should not be any issue... or...?

i usually have a good engine breather/oil seperator tank with 3 engine breathers going in one oil return back to sump then atmosheric breather going into a vented catch tank that catches oil from diff , gear box etc also.

good thing about using the brake resivoir is it will breath oil in when hot then return it when it cools

yeah aware of the oil returning advantage, but with the short service intervals there will be on the drive train, i don't see this as an issue.

Nice to hear you have a similar setup, i will also have a separator between the engine and vented catch tank, and as mentioned planning to put the breather pipes from gear/diff to the catch tank as well.

going ahead and weld some aditional bungs for the catch tank then.

thanks again andrew
