how come the law protects the criminals rather than the victims??

or is it just lancashire police that can't be a**ed

been working away for about seven months but whilst away had a so called friend stay at my house as he was down on his luck

anyway mum and dad nip round for a few bits we needed and found some items missing outta the house and the house a mess ??

so i phone police and they went to see guy involved and got the items that we knew was missing and some others back but instead of prosicuting they put it down to a misunderstanding ??

we are now back home and starting cleaning house to find some more items missing to the total of around £3k in amongst the items are 2 air rifles so got hold of police and ask for somebody else to deal with the case as the original officer ask mum and dad why the house was in such a mess before he enquired what was actually missing (HELLO I JUST BEEN ROBBED) anyway after 3 weeks and phone calls and visits the original officer appearred at my door ??

so told him what had gone missing (then he stopped me after about 3 items and said if i did a proper list he would pick it up in the week or i could drop it in to station) he then told me that all he would do was to add the items to the crime report but NFA would be taken ??

which means you can get robbed and the police put it down as a misunderstanding and the robber gets off with it free to rob somebody else when we informed him that a neighbour had seen him takeing drugs etc he said its not an offence to be a drug taker ?? ( SO WHY CAN YOU GET DONE FOR POSSESION )??

but if i'd have dealt with this myself i would have got done for GBH at the best if not MURDER yet they still don't do out even when you go down the correct lines ???

i could see the problem facing the police. you say he stole, he could say it was his stuff or was gifted from you. you allowed him into your house to stay. what evidence is there for the police to believe?
i also dont think you can get done for possesion because someone else seen him taking drugs. try and prove that one in court.

i know what you mean, the british justice system is an absolute joke!

I found this out personally myself, after being threatened with a loaded cross bow back in september of last year! cutting a long story short...went to magistrates they sent it to crown court as they couldn't give a big enough sentance, it then goes before a judge and jury...

who then decide that a loaded crossbow in the street pointing in the direction of someone(me!) is not an offensive weapon?????? gave the stupid bitch 60 hours community service...and no costs!

How the hell that was justice i dont know, and the message that gives out is "dont carry a gun or a knife around....carry a loaded cross bow instead"

the police may have an issue with making any prosecution as you allowed this "mate" to enter your home, and obviously whatever the guy told them to make them think it was a misunderstanding was enough for them esp. as they thought they had all the items back in your posession!

Definately keep pushing and take this further if you feel you want to! Dont let yourself get walked over!

If it wasn't a sunday, the person with the crossbow could have used the "excuse" he was looking for a scotsman to shoot and kill(with the crossbow), as this is actually PERFECTLY LEGAL TO DO, on any day except sunday, do it on a sunday and you do time, the LAW does state it is legal with a bow and arrow, but that could be applied most likely to a crossbow, as it uses a bow and arrow.
If it's a welsh person it has to be inside the city walls and after midnight, with a Bow and arrow.
These laws still stand, and are by no means the weirdest, I think eating chocolate whilst sat on the toilet is a crime but only if you are female is a good one.

fuzzy i wasn't saying i wanted him to get done for the drug taking but the officer said it wasn't a crime taking drugs so if its not a crime taking drugs then how can they get done for possesion lol

yes i know i gave them access and i got some stuff back but they could question his where abouts of my otherstuff etc and the fact he has 2 air rifles possibly in his possesion ?? to rob who ever he feels like and it would no doubt set me up for whatever crime he's done ??

dont bother with the police. sort it out yourself but unlike the other thread in the muppet room today do it properly so you dont end up in jail.

i had a crossbow i bought when i lived in the netherlands. a small hand crossbow with 12 inch darts. strong enough to bury half the dart in a brick wall with barbs to stop them pulling out again.
they would kill easily if it they do that to bricks and available to anyone off the street in tool shops etc.
