why is it when i add a friend on facebook, and i havent been accepted as a friend for ages from the other person. when i go and look at there profile they change there profile picture etc...., but it still says "awaiting friend conformation"

i also get peoples status updates still even though they have not accepted me as a friend?

its just there old friend from school and i want to speak to them.

 

he/she obviously doesnt want to speak to you though.

 

but they can just ignore the friend request? but they havent, i think something is wrong as its happening with a few people ive added as a friend?
