Default petrol treatments.

Evening,

I've just bought a new (to me) car. It's an Audi A4 2.0 FSI on a 53 plate. I was thinking about running a petrol treatment / injector cleaner throught it as it's got 68K miles on it, I don't think it will do it any harm but I've never used one before..

Any advice on which ones are best to use or if it's really worth while or not ?? or can I just use some of the higher priced fuels for a few tanks to achieve the same results ??

any input welcomed.

cheers

to be honest mate i've only ever used a octane booster think it was called nf, didn't really feel a difference and just wanted a safety margin when I knew it would get a thrashing. I'd just stick with decent fuel and bite the bullet.

I wouldn't. Stick with branded fuel that contains additives (not supermarket) and it'll be fine.

just stuck some forte in mine , it is really good but i think you can only get it from garages , my car failed on emissions at 5% when reved , put a bottle of forte in , let it run for 10mins and passed with a 3.02% , cant be bad for a tenner lol

Any more info on the Forte or do I just need to hunt round the local garages for it ??

I guess Millers and the STP one are more readily available from motor factors, or dare I say Halfords..

cheers
