Default Rs turbo boosting but no go

My mate has an Escort RS turbo and when you stick your foot down it boosts to 10psi does not loose boost but just does not feel like its got a punch behind it. its not clutch slipping just takes ages to get revs up. like its towing a caravan or something. if it was a leaky boost hose or split it would not run? any ideas?

Worn cam/followers. Classic CVH problem, happens over time due to the crap lubrication to the head. Car will run spot on, but just lacks power due to the valves not opening fully.

Took hose off and held it next to where it wanted to sit without being forced and it needed about an inch chopping off. she is good again, torque steer central haha.
does need a set up but living on the isle of wight it needs planning as its ferry fare and a good all day trip there and back.
