Focus RS 500

Are the rumours of a Rs 500 Focus true? if so would love to see some piccys!!

i heard a rumour about this as this may be the last RS built trying to find out if this is the case!!

Both the Focus and Fiesta ST 500s were effectively specced up cars to help shift them before the next model arrived, so I doubt that Ford are rushing to do a Focus RS 500... still wouldn't put it past them to paint it black chuck in some red seats and add 5K to the cost!

i'm sure i seen a pic on here a couple of months ago from the ford testing ground and it was black!! if it is a 500 mate it looked awesome!!! really hope they do! do it

IF they do, you can pretty much guarentee nothing performance related will change, it will just be a bit of paint and a trim change and a new set of wheels.

There was a some pics of a black one, sure it was a test car. the pics were taken at the ring I think

Standard practice to crush development cars, what else would they do with them?

They havent been type approved so cant easily be sold, and you wouldnt want your competitors ending up with them either.

Apparently for legal (as Chip explained) and also cost reasons.

Its cheaper for them to scrap the car than spend the time stripping it down.

Plus they will have no real use for those parts.

It's a shame they don't go into the Ford heritage centre, but then that car becomes another cost.

before they released the latest RS there was a black test car driving around near work in billericay and wow it looked amazing in black.shame they didnt release it as a standard colour.we occasionally get testers near work due to being so close to dunton.we often have a 4 door mk6 fiesta saloon driving around here which looks mega odd.
the latest tester ive seen is a camouflaged kind of C-max van
