Default Sports KA Overheating?

my girlfriends sports ka fan has been coming on relatively soon after turning on the engine (not full speed). This evening the temperature light came on after returning home. the fan was on full speed but the light didn't go off. i checked later to see if the water/coolant was low and it wasn't. i turned the car on and didn't take long for the fan to go from slow speed to high speed. the fan didn't go off at all and about 5 mins later the temp light was back on again.

any ideas?

I don't know much about sport Ka's but the standard Ka cooling system is very good so its rare to see the fan on at all.

I suspect on the sport Ka the fan is controlled by the ECU as with the original. I'd check if the radiator is getting hot when the fan is on and if not then replace the thermostat.

they suffer from thermostats sticking i had one go on mine after a year then it did a head gasket these engines run very hot thats why they pump more fuel in to cool down the valves thats why the fuel consumption is poor

The "solution" is to use a WAHLE(sp) one, started using these and so much much better, don't get sluggish like others.
