Default 8 MPG?!

i have a stage 3 sapph cossie, only running low end stage 3, about 320Bhp, yet only getting about 8mpg when im a bit throttle heavy, so to say, and about 13mpg if i drive off boost all the time, this is around town, surely i should be getting more than that?!

defo should be gettting more.

my stage 3 would hit over 250 to a tank full.

my 400bhp engine did 200 all day as mixture of driving - personal best was 150 miles at full throttle

why are you really that bothered? You have a tuned up car. It will drink the go go juice if you drive quicky.

sorry but that is such a stupid statement to make

it could be his car is running way too rich and borewashing and thus causing damage.

when was the last time the car was setup? Has it ever been setup since you have owned it?

What chip is the car running?

Whats the engine spec?

It could well be, or it could be he drives very hard everywhere. I have a very efficient modern day diesel. ive seen as low 12MPG.

yes but carl you diesel is remapped and thus willl drink more than std when you on hard throttle so not really a fair comparison.

i drove my 400bhp cossie hard on the road and also on the track and each time I did for a whole tank i only managed 150 miles to a tank my average used to be 200. Car was setup by Ahmed and was running spot on.

I think is car needs a setup as now way shold a stage 3 engine be drinking like that.

Having an FSE fuel valve on Cossies can cause this I think so make sure you ain't using one of them.

Yes its re-mapped, can still acheive over 40mpg also. I rarely get that as im never on motorways.

What did 150-200 miles on your cossie equate to MPG?

Are you really as cretinous as that statement would imply? If he is only getting 13mpg when driving off boost all the time then something is clearly wrong!

As already suggested bore wash would be a good reason to be "that bothered"

You should see at least 20mpg around town / sensible driving.

Get the car checked over.

When I first got my stage 3 cossie on a T34.63 and greys with a Paul Hills chip I once put in £15 when it was on the red. Reset the trip and it did 18 (quite hard ) miles before it was back in the red. Under 10mpg!

Put a MSD chip in with closed loop and did Southend PF meet and back on £15

With 700bhp on a trip to Woodbridge it did an unreal 21mpg & i wasnt hanging about. On short journeys it did 11-17mpg depending on how hard I tried.

no idea as not too clued up on how to calculate this

It was a full tank of optimax which cost around £60 at the time and it was gone in a couple of hours of fun driving
