gotech mfi vs my standard ecu?
On my s13 200sx I changed to a gotech mfi ecu on my mappers/engine builders advice I am now been told on the sxoc this was a backwards step! Doesn't sound good lol.
For example standard ecu fires injectors sequentially and the gotech only batch fires. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Opinions welcome

It does appear to be abit of a backwards step, i certainly wouldn't of got rid of the coil packs in exchange for a dizzy set-up. Despite this though i wouldn't let it bother you, if its running safely and your happy with the performance just enjoy the car.

it doesn't bother me if i spent £400 to use a lower ecu, no wait a minute it does lol. If at all that is the case as alot of the info is over my head. But if the same could have been done on my standard ecu with more features etc......see my point

Can I ask why you changed and what power you are running? Standard ECU is enough to run up to around low-mid 300s I think. I know that after a certain power level you do need to go standalone which I can understand if you are running a lot. But £400 for a full Go-Tech installation, loom, setup and mapping??

that was £400 more then a remap on my oem ecu.
Well obviously jamsport did recommend it so whats wrong with getting other opinions. I believe they said it had more parameters or something along those lines.
Power was around 320bhp so nothing crazy at all.

to be honest almost straight after the rebuild for some reason started pulling to the side, it started leaking water, then dizzy failed. Jamsport sent out a replacement dizzy. Then it started using alot of oil in under 1500 miles, due to financial problems amongst other things I had to put off sorting the motor out.
I would take it back down there but I doubt they will be interested as this must be about a year and a half ago and tbh I can't afford it.
Do you guys reckon i'd get anywhere by ringing them seeing what they can do? I just can't really afford to flatbed the car then another bill on top. Gutting as I spent about 5-6k lol.

thanks jamie to be honest I feel abit embarassed as its been so long after i brought it down last, I thought the answer would be no chance as I am sure its out of warrentee as it was so long ago even thought the car probably done about 1-2k since you last saw it and has been SWORN since.
This was by no means a dig just very frustrating after many k's down the line, plus the fact i'm in constant pain from kidney stones makes everything so so much worse lol.

no lol i'm in bed with kidney stones got to wait a couple of weeks for surgery so I am going no where fast!
I'll drop jamie a pm to see if they can help but I know for a fact its out of warrentee and unfortunately I doubt if I got anywhere near enough funds to put right. Plus the car would need flat bedding down there.

KnoxyGtt, we have several vauxhalls running gotech, including one of our staff members with a 1.6 16v on throttle bodies, email mark@jam-sport.co.uk for more info on it

tbh couldnt be arsed to read ur thtead on sxoc but sequentail was developed to refine the fueling system for more economy ,so runing batch the car will i little more to the gallon but at higher revs a sequentail tuned engine will more or less batch anyway as theres no proof you loose power or storten the life of it !
im suprised you didnt go the power fc route for ease tho standard ecu are capable of 400+bhp with a afm chamge
