As with everything mate some will like and some won't TBH,
Look at newman cam's they can kill an engine but people who have it set up right there perfect
The Spec mate well TBH what isn't done is more to the question LOL the only thing i couldnt afford was EFI,TBH i concentrated on engine strength and beating it around a course.

the maufacturer recommended a set clearance , wich nash specced to ,
he even said himself if he had supplied them to the engineer and said match these clearence wise , it wouldnt have been a problem ,
just double check clearences when boring block to suit ,
few folks i know have them in big power rst's with no issues ,

we had them in our old cossie, but when the block was machined, i personally dont think the machine shop did the piston-bore clearance big enough, as it nipped up and melted when was being set up not long after rebuild
I specifically remember the man telling me that he had made the clearances tighter to reduce piston slap

The problems i had had are massive piston slap after 1500miles of use[was really quiet when first built], still there now as i cant be arsed to change them. Car doesnt use oil, doesnt smoke, has good oil pressure, and makes good power. Sounds like a tank on start up but cannot justify the cost of a rebuild when theres nothing else wrong.
The reason i had my machined the way i did was because wossner said i must do it this way. They said they need extra clearence and if i didnt do it to there measurements i ran the risk of it seizing up.
I will go Mahles next time.
