Default bloody car

fooooookin thing .. got halfway on my travels today ...then every time i accelerate i get like a whistlin noise from the engine...
no boost just this noise..
fone nath thinks its a split boost pipe.. take the pipes off...still the same
think it might be the wastegate... go and buy some pliers.. cant move the actuator arm ...
bloody car...
so the arm on the wastegate is at about 45% and it wont move.. getting dark so drive home slowly no boost... get about 10 minutes from home and all the lights start to go dim

pull over .. and no on idle i get foook loads of oily smoke from the exhaust

so it looks like the wastegate has stuck in either open or closed position
or the actuator has totally given up
the turbo is probably now scrap
and the soddin alternator has given up...

happy bloody christmas
soddin crap cosworth piece of pooo

Take the turbo to air filter hose off.

Check that you can move/spin the turbo wheel with your fingers....

i.e. check that the wheel is not rubbing/catching the turbo housing. It should spin freely with very little fore/aft movement.....and just a little side-to-side or up-down movement.
