everyone else seems to find them but today was my turn, but this time it does have a happy ending!
I was approached by a guy at my local cub scout group where my son goes as he had spotted that I had a large collection of fords, he asked me for some advice about a car in his garage, he went on to tell me that he had a mk2 escort in his garage and he was never going to finish or even start the project and he wanted to know how much it was worth. He told me it was a 2 door 1.3 ghia and was stripped for restoration, he had all the panels and even all the new ones to repair, sills, floors, a posts etc
I said I might know someone who would want it and took his number.
I spoke to my m8 rob (robrs2 on pf) and he confirmed his interest, the car had been in his garage virtually untouched for 6 years aand was last on the road in 1995. the best bit was that the car was half a mile from my house and 200 yards from robs lol
anyway we went to see it tonight and rob did indeed buy it for a very good price
, 90% of the parts are there to build it Rob is turning it into his new track car and will probably be supercharged zetec powered. the car does need some work but nothing that rob can't do and nearly all the repair panels are with the car!
anyway pics, this is as we found it it's been like that for 6 years!

Robs car finally made it out of it's home for the last 6 years and to its new one
we strapped the panels on to transport it and it made it look more like an escort again if only it was that simple!
the resto is about to begin and it's hoped it will be done for next spring, it's not going to be a show car but a functional track/drift car
lots of parts came with the car so much that we had to do 2 trips, Rob got lucky with the axle as when we took it out of it's protective sheet it happened to be an RS2000 one with the tramp bar brackets
.. both front wings are brand new and have never seen the road, the other new panels with the car would add up to around 400 quid nowadays so he's done well![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
