Default Driveshaft removal 4x4

At the front I can't get a driveshaft of the transferbox. It is (seen standing in front of the car) the left side. (The one that needs to be an inch longer if it pops out a hard cornering).

The other side was no problem, it just came out. But this one isn't, it seems to be locked or something. I didn't want to use any force because maybe I could damage something.

Can anybody give me the solution how to withdraw this driveshaft from my saph cos 4x4?

Have you taken the bottom cover off the diff? There is a circlip that retains the driveshaft actually inside the diff

Neil,

Is this is the only right way to do this?

So put a basket under the bottom cover to catch the oil, remove the bolds and then unclip it at the inside??

YBJ.....like neil s said...there is a circlip which hold your driveshaft in the diff.

and this circlip isnt necessary to put in again.

Thank you all for the reply!

Will try this tomorrow, does anybody know if you need a new gasket for the bottom cover and which and how much oil you need to fill up again?

wimwerf: you can reply in dutch if you like.

Agreed - there is no gasket - just seal it up with hermetite or similar

Think capacity is around a litre, but not 100% on this
