Default mondeo exhaust manifold options?

as above really i want to put a tubular manifold on the 1.8 silver top mondeo, i can't seem to see model specific manifolds but will something like a focus one fit, also will fitting the 2.0ltr cams and inlet manifold and possibly ECU help too, i want the engine to be abit more responsive and also better on fuel obviously when i'm driving it carefully, once i put the 2 ltr bits on i'll take it too be mapped so it's not just dumping fuel

cheers in advance

i also have a 1.8 silver top and have been toying with the idea of 2.0 cams, maf, tb and ecu but don't want to loose fuel economy so have left it standard atm as it's not bad on fuel really.

tbh, it was better on fuel before i put the alloys on it!

will it fit the 1.8 zetec, other wise i can't see why not i'll just have to have the rest of the exhaust fabricated and hopefully a mate will do that.

why waste your cash? Not being nasty here but is it REALLY worth spending hundreds on a few BHP on an already slow car? Just buy a decent ST24 instead!

for the faffing around for 10 maybe 15 bhp i would save our cash. an st manifold might be 100ish, then tb, ecu maf another 100. then once fitted will it run? will you have endless problems with pats prick or mick (forget the real names lol)

ok i can here what your saying and i was doing it more for 2 reasons just to let the engine breathe better and maybe get a bit better fuel consumption out of it, and my next car is going to be something a little lighter than an st24 they are lovely cars don't get me wrong but i'm really missing the chuckability of my little 3 door escort, and turning circle , weight really kills the fun i bet another 3 door escort with this engine and box would be such a laugh to drive .

but cheers for the reply's much appreciated

If you want a cheap fast fun car, the Mk5 Rs 2000 is a fantastic car for less than 2k, some are around the 1k mark if you look carefully.

i had a little mk5 before i love them tbh i had one when i was 16 , i honestly wouldn't have any other escort out of choice, just if i get the next one i wouldn't mind completely stripping it to get rid of the rust issues as best possible cos there a nightmare for it.

what the XR3i like compared to it, i'v heard the RS2000 is a hard engine to mod and a little heavy, it's only what i'v been told before anyone linches me
