If the engine does what it does on a restrictor and you can remove that it sounds like you would have a zero lag, untouchable car!

Speak to harvey mate he is very helpfull & you might not even need it mapping if he was already dyno'd it he may be able to give you a chip with the exact map he used.Or he will be able to give you best info on the pistons

More chance of breaking the box on a 34 than a 38 because of the torque spike, wouldnt fit a 38,just go for a t4

Just asked stu's opinions on high comp mapping, the higher the comp the harder it is to control the engines thermal stability.

averagely high, it wont struggle with anything a T34 can throw at it, but if your talking T4 etc then heat may be a problem,

T34.63 on that spec engine will awesome, no laggy low-comp engine

I'd expect no less than 400/400 on that motor if you go for a T38 you are chasing a extra 10-15% more power and you'll kill gearboxs & front diff's for fun so get budgeting for them aswell 4k+

If i was you i'd try it with your current Turbo & 2WD exhaust manifold and you'll love it. It'll feel so lively as it high-comp

think of all the expense when your only chasing an extra 10-15% more power changing to a T38

problem youl have with that comp is you dont realy want to keep changing turbo spec as its harder to map..if your thinking of going for a bigger turbo in the future id bring it down to 8,1 comp...is it as high as 9.8 because of the pistons though because usualy to go that high they skim the head alot???you need to know that for sure because iv not known of a yb be that high without the head being skimmed heavely...it could be a combonation of pistons and head but that head will defo be 138 or less prob 137.7 with a flat piston and just vave cut outs...if so pistons will machine nice...or as said just put t34 on and it will be well lively...cheers danny

would you run a 10-1 cr engine on the road, that has to do 40,000+ miles ?

best thing imho is whip the pistons out, send em to a company to bowl them, dropping the cr to around standard cr mark, then get a chip for it, theres no point running the rally spec engine on the road

rally engines get looked at every 1-2000 stage miles, not 40-50,000 miles,

but, its up to the mapper at what they feel comfortable with, so ask who ever will do the chip

i think the point hes trying to make is a turbo engine with that comp wont do as many miles as a lower comp one???and thats because it wont.

I think you may need to have a think about that comment and perhaps have a look around at the current vehicle manufacturers cr's VW would be a good place to start
