Default how do i get photos off slide show cd from photographer?

I seem to remember a thread about it not that long ago but i cant find it?

We have had some pics of baby Jack done professionally and are extremely pleased with them, just not the 32 pounds per picture!!!! (thats the cheapest) They have given us a slied show cd with all the pictures on it so we can pick what ones we want. So we are picking 3 off them from the photographer to print and mount for us but i want to be able to "break" the cd and get others that i like, (theres over 50 !!)

Any help would be appreciated, even a link to the other thread would be great! Cheers guys

I mean cant copy from it, I am offshore at the moment so havent seen it with my own eyes but as far as i am led to believe its just a cd that you put in and it plays a slide show. You cant go into the files and highlight them to copy etc. Or if you can it wont let you.

You could try something like "magicISO" or another type of cd image extracter?

Yeah they are downloadable's. They will ring alarm bells as theyre mainly for ripping on cd's or image files or software so you dont need said cd to run executables. Like downloading software is usually one big packed up file. Things like magic iso allow to unpack it into its original files.

Well all this is a porgram like winzip. Except instead of zipped files they are image files.
Open the cd in magiciso and it should bring all the files on the disc up, then extract to wherever you want.

My computer, right click the drive, explore. IF it is compacted into a format, use what's been said.

Personally i'd have made sure that i watermarked any images i gave to someone on a disk just to stop any such behaviour. You would have been well aware of the prices before you used this photographer and now you want to rip them off. So much for someones expertise and running a business eh.

you wont delete the images off the disk if you use the sofware i posted it will scan the disk and you can then save the images to your computer.

Well as i said in the first post I am perfectly willing to pay for their services but i would like more than 3 pictures at 32 quid each i cant really justify spending anymore than that. And we actually got it throught the voucher from the hospital when he was born (which doesnt have prices!) that offers a free photo from a professional photographer, the missus went along and knew it would be a bit pricey and we were willing to pay for some pics of course but 32 quid is a bit much I am afraid. If i wanted all of them it would be 1600 quid........still think i am ripping him off??? No, didnt think so, from me paying for some pics, my mum, her mum etc, he is doing very well out of the 30 mins he spent taking pics. Wouldnt you say so.

I wouldnt go along, get my free pic and not buy any of his pics, now thats despicable. All i want is the electonis copy that i can put the pics on my laptop when i am away working. I though that was fair enough.

I appreciate what you're saying, and i actually agree that £32 is a bit steep but it sounds like there was no sitting fee so you should take this into acount. normally that would be upwards of £100.

have you not enquired about getting a copy of the prints on a disk? £1600 is far too steep, if it was me i would charge a couple of hundred (with no sitting fee) and give you a print only licence. Stealing them still doesn't make it ok.

I doubt the high-resolution images are on the CD they have to given to you - they'd be complete fools to do that!

If you simply want to use some of the other photos for facebook, or to keep as low resolution images on your PC, then I'd simply do a screen grab of the photos you want when viewing the slideshow. Just hit the 'print screen' key to save the content of your screen to the windows clipboard. Then 'paste' this image into a graphics program and crop it as appropriate.

right i have installed magicISO and dont have a clue how to use it, tried messing around with it but havea feeling it cant do it. I tried the screen grab and a message came up when i tried to paste the image onto paint saying "the author of this slideshow does not allow graphical reproduction" doh.
