Jus took my car out for a spin, came bk and had a look under the bonnet...noticed some oil on my timming belt

cam seal, crank seal, or maybe water pump gasket? (it was black like oil but i could smell coolant? would ocolant come off black on the timming belt?)

Oil and black dirty water have very different viscosities, shouldbe easy to tell them apart

Most likely your front crank seal mate, but check theres nothing obvious first like rocker cover gasket!.

PS. Dont you need a license to take cars out for a spin

I'll need to take a proper look, was jus pissed and shut the bonnet

P.s. noticed a bit of steam, but cld of jus been condensation or summit cos it aint moved for a while

had a look today, had car running and looks/feels/smells like coolant, must be water pump fooked or water pump gasket, hard to tell if theirs any play in the water pump with timing belt on, kinda glad cos i know it aint crank seal, how much r new S2 water pumps (its an S2 engine)? and gasket, easy to do?

aye cam belt off, might aswell get a new one, water pump from burtons is £48 and 80P for gasket, got a feeling its the pump leaking. doh.
