one of the switches is fubar

either high or low pressure

the a/c works for about 20 minutes and then stops so something is tripping out

the switches are the main culprits as even with the engine running and left standing there is no water puddling underneath and the only other thing it can be is the expansion valve

apparently

it's got gas in it

all the mechancials are working and new as far as the pipes, condensor.drier, etc are concerned and it's got the full complement of gas/dye/oil in it as well

Having the same problem with my mk5 golf, re gassed and everything and still like a greenhouse inside the car

Ill put a spanner to anything

but Air con has always seemed to be a mystery to me. And the pipes always seem to be in the way (note cambelt change on cossie )

High pressure is the thin pipes, low pressure is the fat pipes

apparently there is also a shim kit for the compressor where you take the wheel off and put a slimmer shim in the way and it all works

but this doesn't seem to be my problem as it's done it for the past 3 years, it works sometimes, it won't work at other times, and then for months at a time there will be nothing wrong with it at all

Take it to someone who properly knows about air con. Which should be everyone who works with R134a now!

I agree. Fucking about with it when you don't really know what your doing is just going to make the problem worse.

Get it to someone who does
