Default Anybody in the know re. Planning Applications?

Basically what it is,

I have an objection against a planning application. The guy who has submitted the application, as well as being a complete arsehole (we cant stand each other) happens to be my father in law to be as well

Thing is i've bit my tongue so many times for my missus' sake and hes now trying to play mind games so i'm having a bit of fun in return. A bit petty I know, but regardless, i've just been reading his planning application on the council website and found a vital flaw in it so I want to lodge an objection just to annoy the crap out of him.

My question is, can the applicant find out who has lodged the objection?

Doesn't bother me if he found out it was me it would just be handy to keep the peace for the other halfs sake!

Only when you stand up in the Planning appeal meeting to raise your objection, I'm guessing he'll probably spot you.

By which point it will have cost him a fair bit of $$$ to get the correct architectural plans re-done etc - Champion

Basically hes trying to obtain planning permission for changes to a listed building but the desired use on the planning application form is not his intended use - i have proof of this by the way and because he is such a prize cock he deserves it

Planning applications are minds games between planners and applicants.

If he has previous experience in planning you may end up helping him not hindering him.

The final use/ change is sometimes deliberately NOT declared at first application especially in sensitive applications like Listed.

He may know exactly what he's doing and yours and others objections might be exactly what he is hoping for, to prove to the planners what he is asking for won't be acceptable, but then what he actually wants to do suddenly becomes the only option.

Why would you want to risk upsetting the missus over a childish thing? Father in law to be i take it your marrying her then? Hardly a good start

Best thing to do if hes a prick, is to be better than him!

just put someone elses name on the objection and be done with it

it'll go to their address is there is an appeal so just make sure it's someone who doesn't know either the father in law or the mrs

anyone can go to the planning offices and request a look at the file on the application, both during and after the determination of the case, if he wanted to find out who objected thats all he would have to do to find out.

An objection in a false name would be binned anyway as the planners would have to follow up the issue with the person who made the complaint if it was valid.
