Its so funny that all the people that ar supposidly organising National Day on here are clueless lol!

I won't be paying £30 to join the RSOC but I will be attending With my RS on my visiting car club stand!!! as will many others!!

So what the rest of you on here do is up to you I don't give a F**K!

With out the "Other Types of Club" attending National Day with RS's on it there would be no National Day cause lets face it then it just turns into a Regional Day where people wouldn't be to bothered about going to cause it'll be the same stuff different day lol

What you lot do is up to you but I know where were at lol.

agree helen,.
Lincoln, you keep that up and you won't be going on any stands at nat day as the rsoc can admit to the show who they like and if that means not allowing abusive idiots in then so be it.

this thread has 2 questions,
1 about local group stands and having to be a member to be on them
2 rs cars on visiting group stands

pack all the crap in and just support the RSOC as they don't have to put a show on and with all the negativity on here they must wonder why should they!

the only reason rach offerd a space on our stand is that we have been to alot ov the cleveland meets and thought she would be helping them out ?????(ooooops)

as for our stand been a car park thats not going to happen it would have been a one off as for the reason above i hope thats sorted now

me and rach understand all the banter about the local groups and the rules etc etc as that was in place when we did it for a local group
we are FULLY paid up members ov the rsoc and always will be as we still want to surport the rsoc local groups shows and nat day but with rs-mania now

yes if you are a member ov a local group then you should be seen to suport that group and be a paid up member ov the nat club (imo)./ but there will be people who dont want to join a local group or pay a membership fee for what ever reasonthats up to them

ITS ABOUT EVERYONE ENJOYING THERE RS CARS AND SHOWS

There is nothing abusive about my reply to this topic just stating the obvious lol.

Like I say I organised our visiting car club stand and its full of RS cars ! so whats the problem its been like this for the last 5 yrs.

I support the RSOC through my local groups!!! and I can't go on there stands cause I'm not a member of the National RSOC as like many others so what options do we have lol.

Do you actually own an Rs Youth as under your sig its says ST200 daily driver Xr4 track car so what stand you on then? as you don't seem to have an RS am I right?

He does that, the other cars are his track toys as far as I know.

Ste has been part of RSOC for a long time.

If you are an RS enthusiast and own an RS of any kind I see no reason why you would not want to join the main RSOC to support them, and carry on supporting you local RSOC group, that is exactly what I do and will continue to as long as I own the RS.

Maybe i'm stoopid, but I cant see people's problem's on here.......

I aint bothered reading the whole thread but by the sounds of it, the rsoc is basically saying if you own an rs but aint a member of the rsoc you cant show your car even if your a member of a club who has a stand at national day? is that right?

If so would it not be better having a club stand that is full of rs's as they obviously like the rs scene but the owners are not rsoc member rather than a club stand that is full of other makes of cars ?

Its as if the rsoc are saying any club is welcome but if you have any members that own rs's there not welcome cause they own an rs and didnt choose to join the rsoc, seems a bit childish to me.(IF I'M READING THIS RIGHT LOL)

As has already pointed out to you I have owned an escort rs cosworth for 6 years aswell as having an st and xr, I have been a member of the RSOC since 1995 when I bought my first RS, I have only not owned one for 2 days in that time.

sort of mark, there is some confusion about rs's being on visiting club stands (something I don't have an issue with) the main issue here was that to be on a local group stand you have to be an RSOC member (this I agree with)

Same shit just another day

People want all the benefits of the RSOC but dont want to pay to join

I bet 99% of you who wont pay spend more on fags or beer in one week than it costs to join

If the RSOC is that crap why do you all want to go to the RSOC national day ??

I would say comments on the public forum like that might not work in your favour mate.

And what makes you or your group any more important than any of the members?? The way your talking above it's fuck the RSOC, fuck the members we'll do what we want.

Just out of interest do you have to pay to be in your local group??

i was only letting you know lincoln, after you mentioned the melbourne loop !

dont think there is any need to be called clueless !!

i know exactly what is going in the area i organise at national day

as for national day not happening if there were no ""other groups "" how on earth would you know that ??

i can tell you there 100 % would still be a national day

the national day organiser decides who comes as a visiting club and who does not
you might want to remember he reads this board too !!!!!!!!!

I think one of the ways of combatting the problems would quite simply be for nobody to be able to join a local group without being a member of the national RSOC> but obviously that would mean the cost would have to come down of the local group memberships?

Saves an awful lot of hassle and means everyone would know there and then what the score was.

Some healthy debate on this thread, some irrelevant comments but it makes for good reading regardless.

As a local club we charge 5.00 a year and that goes towards keeping the club running and charge 1.00 subs every month

But then some people dont want to even pay a pound

Right just to clear a few points up!
1 I don't have any thing against any 1 on here or are members of the RSOC.
2 Yes I pay £10 a year to my local RSOC.
3 Every year I have organised a visiting car club stand its always had RS's on it.
4 I have owned RS cars for the past 15yrs so I'm not a "Newbie" to the RS scene so I do have an idea of whats going on.
5 I agree that FULLY Paid RSOC members should get the rights to the Regianal Stands as there full members.

Reason for me organising our Club stand is so that we can all have a good time and meet up as most of us live far apart from each other.
And I can't see the point of having to go on a a stand under force cause your not allowed on another.

What ever happened to freedom of speech!

As said Joining the RSOC does have bennifits but just not for every member for example the insurance scheme works for some and not others I know this as I matched quotes.

I just hope every1 has a good day as theres always great cars there as there has been for the last 10 yrs I have been attending.

I didn't come to post on here to cause an arguement just to state facts that were asked which were can you show an RS on a visiting car club stand!

The answear to that is YES you can.

Or write a set of rules that will be active every year, abide by them or don't attend.

The charges for local groups is new to me as we don't have to pay anything for ours so i can see the argument but really this information should be given out to members of the local group you are welcome to all the regional days but unfortunately the national show requires you to be a full paid member.

I don't really know the ins and outs of the rules for the local groups and national club but there should be something on the main website describing everything.

I agree with your statment mate but visiting car clubs should still be aloud to display RS cars as when you buy 1 it doesn't say you have to join the RS owners club to attend 1 of there shows to show ya car.

Visiting car clubs stands are there for people who possibly don't have time to involve themselves with the RSOC due to whatever reasons but still want to show off there pride and joy.

After all Fiesta in the Park ain't just fiesta's now is it lol.

That's like saying i support Leeds U (which i don't) so should be able to go to the ground for free to watch them.
If it wasn't for the fans paying the ticket prices they'd never be able to continue as a business and here you have the same situation as the RSOC is a business which works for the members, members pay the season ticket and reap the benefits of showing at national day. If the committee turned around and give everyone the option to show their car there know one would pay the fees hence the rules.

the main problem is people get charged to be a local group member and there should not be a charge for this at all

this was discussed last year at the local group seminar

it will once again be a topic this year !!!!!!!!!!!!

dicko hit the nail on the head, you should be a national member before joining a local group and there would be no confusion

What a load of waffling from both sides of the argument. Is this as simple as I think it is:

RSOC Members CAN get their RS car(s) on RSOC Members Local Stands
Non RSOC Members CAN NOT get their RS car(s) on RSOC Members Local Stands
Non RSOC Members CAN get their RS car(s) on Non-RSOC Stands

Cheers,

tbh i dont get why people will join a local rs group but not the main one.if you are happy to be an rs member and happy to join your local rs club why not join the main?

i dont do track days and im not insured by the rsoc, but i have been a member for years of the main group as i love rs' and want to keep going to shows and seeing my favourite marque on track and on show.without members there wont be shows. the local groups get help form the main club for regional days do they not? so where would the regional days be then?

I will be showing my RS2000 with RS mania but also supporting the day, because as a non RSOC member, i will be charged more (£15) to be on a stand.
I love RS's, always have and always will, surely this is what its all about, supporting the RS badge/name, not how much money you spend with the RSOC!
Ok, it costs money to organise a show like this, but money from the public in their VW's, Vauxhalls etc must also benefit the RSOC to put on a show, and make it worthwhile doing.

If you want to park your RS inside this year best join up very soon AS INFIELD PARKING FOR NON RS MEMBERS AND GROUPS LOOKS VERY UNLIKELY unless you want to park in a building site

Ditto.

It's the Ford Rallye Sport Owners Club National Day. I'm a fully paid up member, eleven years now. I have attended one AGM in that time, I was surprised how efficiently this club is organised. You would not believe how much goes into running a club of this scale, I think £30 is nothing for what we receive as members; magazines, club insurance scheme, parts sourcing, restoration assistance, valuation. A lot of people donate a lot of their time free of charge to keep the club as great as it is. If this club was not run by volunteers we would be paying far far more for the privelidge (sp) of having membership to this exclusive club.

membership to the rsoc for one year, which gets you supporting the marque you have enjoyed for so long.
you get the rallye news mag on time every 2 months which for any real enthusiast is a good read, but is only as good as the contributions .
you also get the opportunity for if required insurance discounts, and most of all you get to meet lots of like minded rs enthusiasts

also if everyone got £30 worth of gear back then they will be no money in the coffers to run events like national day hence why the club has to be run like a business.
