Default National Day

Who's gonna be joining the main RSOC to put their car on stand at national day this year?

weve just been informed by our local group we cant apply for tickets unless we are a full member of the main RSOC before ordering, Which quite honestly, im not prepared to join just for the sake of National day. So anyone know of any visiting car clubs that have space?

Am I misreading that, but are visiting clubs not allowed RS cars on their stands? Does that mean I can't show my car?

Visiting club stands are £15 but deadline is 17th Aug. You will need to contact ricky wood from the rsoc.

RS Owners Club National day local group stands are for paid up members of the club, simple really. Dunno why people get this mixed up every year. You can be a member of a local group without being a member of the RSOC but when it comes to national day then your stuffed as if your a recognised member of a local group and you wanna go on RS mania or any other visiting stand then you'll get busted!! It's the wonders of the internet i'm afraid! Makes me laugh every year!!! For the sake of £30 a year or £2.50 a month ish!!! You can't even go to pizza hut or have a half decent drink for £30!!! LOL

dicko, you dont just pay £30 to go to one show. You get the magazines, the discounts. Insurance cheaper. The social aspect from going to local meets, well worth imo.

I dont understand what is so hard about joining the RSOC ?

If you went to other car clubs i'm sure they would have the same rules as RSOC

It is simple really, you become a member of RSOC then you get to show your car at National Day.

I will now wait to be slagged off and shot down for my post........

I won't be grassing anyone up, you know aswell as I do who the local group co-ordinator is. As for our members going on the stand and not being members......WRONG! As Dave organises our stand and tickets he doesn't bend the rules as he'd be shot down for it, simple!

So let me get this right, as I'm not a member of the national RSOC yet, I can't show my car at all?

I was arranging to go with a visiting club, yet if they had a stand, my RS still couldn't even be on that, despite the fact I've PAID to be a member of that club?

Only had the thing a bloody month, so not even thought about joining yet another club, I pay to be in two as it is. Talk about RS tax if this is the case

Sorry, but that's just ridiculous. Fair enough saying you have to be a member to be on an RSOC stand, but to be on a visiting club stand, when we'll no doubt be stuck out in the arse end of no where anyway?

I've paid to be in that club, we should be allowed to show a selection of our members cars, be they RS or otherwise.

Been wondering whether to bother paying the RSOC membership fee as is, as I can get all the tech info I need from other forums anyway, and you don't need to be a national member to show at other events as far as I know. So I'd effectively be paying £30 for the privilige of having my car at ND

Here we go again, every year.

Why is it people want to go to national day for the RSOC and not support the club by being a member if they have an RS car.

Anyway its cheaper to get in for a member and free to park on the local group stand. So how much does that save of the £30 yearly fee ?

I have no problem at all with the rule that only paid RSOC members can be on an RSOC stand, I think that's fair enough, and how most clubs operate.

But saying that MY car isn't allowed through the gates to be on the stand of a club that I have PAID to be in, because I haven't given the RSOC £30, seems bloody stupid to be honest.

I'm paying an entry fee for the show, so what difference does it make?

As I've only just bought the car (my first RS badged Ford), I thought the club would be trying to sell itself to potential new members, not telling us to bugger off unless we pay them first!

think this has got a little missleading.

As far as i am aware if you are a member of a visiting car club and drive an RS you can go on your clubs stand!
However if you are a member of a RSOC local group, you need to be a full member of the rsoc as local groups are to encourage new members.

Sure Dave will pop allong and clear this up soon.

Dico, Sahra if you bought a few kebabs and burgers less when you go camping you would save the £30 in a couple of weeks lol

Well, a definitive answer from someone in the know would be good, as I'd quite like to go, not been to it for a while. Just need to know whether my car is allowed

if you want to go onto and official local group rsoc stand i.e black country rsoc or swindon rsoc etc you are required to have an original rs car and to be a fully paid up national rsoc member.

visiting car clubs can have any car be it rs or not

rsoc member pay £12 in advance, visiting clubs pay £15 in advance
