And if it does sell, don't know wether to go for a Capri 3100 or an Escort RS1600 / Twin Cam.
Which would still leave a Vauxhall Chevette HSR, Lotus Sunbeam and an Opel Manta 400 on my wish list.
Wish I hadn't been born in the 60's and still live in the 80's.........

daz has one of the prototypes (all white), one was broke, 3 of the batch of 14 D platers went abroad (cant remember the colours) 2 came back and went on E plates one of them i think andy pen has is white was a parts validation vehicle and the other was a test vehicle. So it would be interesting to see which one Spiky has seen.

indeed..........this is all from memory but IIRC there were 14 D plate registered 500's with 4 of them being the prototypes in white and the rest in were press cars.

3dr-rally-slag on here owned the d plate 500 for 10years, and only covered 10k in it
it now has a cage and motorsport wheels, and is normally at all the shows
i dont have pics on my photobucket of it

i have had cars that don't show on them cheepo check it out for free internet sites, that might be because its on a cherished plate or been off the road for years.
its weird when you do check and nothing comes up but in the garage its sitting there.
the only way i would say to check a car is with a proper hpi check or contact the old bill, i have done that and they will give you info regards the cars history.

All the d plate 500s were press or evaluation cars so would have been first registered and run by Ford, I dont recall any using an fmc plate and would have had largish miles on them when sold on
Unless the owner was a Fred Mctavish and he lived at no 660 the plates hardly special
Pound to a penny its another wild goose chase, I doubt its a standard 3dr as very few of them come up with low miles as they were used from day 1 - it tends to be 500s that were stashed away
I would love to be proved wrong though
