Default Track day helmet Open face or full face

As above whet is the best to use?
I used a full face and was passenger in a bad crash off of paddock hill bend and the helmet saved my head as it hit hard on the roof and cut my head and broke my nose.
The only thing is while driving I felt as though visability was restricted would open face make it better to see??

You've almost answered your own question

Open face gives better peripheral vision but less protection, and a full face one has limited peripheral vision but more protection.

So the decision is yours

I use an open face as I need as much vision as I can get whilst on track!

It's a pretty obvious question and as Icurus said you have answered it yourself.

Protection is most important imo, so full face.

I have both, but tend to prefer the increased ventilation the open face gives you in a saloon car.

Plus its hard to speak to passangers with a full face LOL!!!

Full Face for the reasons you listed in your original post... I'd prefer more protection in the event of an accident and have never felt I didn't have enough vision in a full face on track before.

Cheers,
Grant

Full face for me, and i've not found the visiblity to be significantly different between the 2.
Also you can use full face helemt go-carting or in your mates westfiled/caterham if they have one.

I've got a open face OMP helmet, but thinking of trading it in for a full face because of extra protection, but haven't desided yet.

open face all the time for me.

much more visability, you can hear the engine/car better, and it's easyer to put on and off

fully understand the advantages off a full face helmet in a serious crash tho...

As a driver, open face.
As a passenger, full face.
