Have a look/search through posts on the 205 forum - i've used that site since i bought mine last year & there is loads of info on there
Have a search for posts relating to SAD / Supplementary Air Device as these are quite prone to sticking so when you try to start the car from cold it wont turn over unless you rev the car.
Cleaning the sad and/or throttle body seems to cure the problem in a lot of cases

Have you changed the leads recently? Just a thought but i had a similar problem with my old GTI for a while, changed the leads and it never happened again.
