Cleland ex BTCC Cavalier on the rollers

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I loved the 90's BTCC, esp the 850's. My dad bought a brand new T-5 back in 94, then they appeared on the track soon after. I was properly daft on it.
I went looking for a Rydell driven 850 a few years back, when I had spare cash, but couldn't find one. No chance of having spare cash now though.
The 850 estates were damn good against the RWD's. Pity the Audi's killed it with their Quattro, esp during wet racing, when they were often 1st and 2nd! GGrrrrr The engines were limited to 300bhp.
Then the regulation of having to fit the rear spolier changed the estates to the saloons. Oh, those were the days of proper racing.

Hi Cabrio and all,
I drove an ex-Cleland reverse head cavalier at Bathurst in 1999 with the owner Mike Newton, they are very fast through corner's but difficult to drive in the wet as the engine's had a tendency to stall if you locked the wheel's under braking, then you crash.

i feel old tho. Loving the 90's BTCC. Always watched it on tv. God i loved those flying bricks (850's). Although i like the focus at the moment its just not it. The old BTCC was pure contact auto sport. Not a bumper or fender was without a scratch at the end of a race
