Default diff gurus have a look and explain please




could you translate what the writing on the diff means please and cna you tell if its quaiffe or not please

its not a quaife and its not a cosworth crown wheel and pinion as they are a 3.64 and not a 3.9

yeah u can get 3.9s i carnt make out if its a 3.92 if so they come in 1.6 ovh / 1.8 ohc / 2.0 ohc efi / going by my list!

No idea on the 4110 or the 0/90 the only one that matters too u is the 3.92 as thats the ratio! and it wont make that much difference any way so just use it!

the 90 thing i have been told is it is locked at 90%

Its not a quaiffe ATB diff, as if it was it wouldnt have that pin in the middle of it, they have a totally different gear setup to that.

PS

Looks like it says ".090" to me, which is probably saying its got 90 thou of clearance, but that is only a guess.

so i take it ,it looks just like a standard inch71/2 diff with a 3.92 thats been tightened up,

yes it all looks standard to me, although im not a diff expert, try pm'ing steveboyslim for a definitive answer, as he deals in a lot of diffs, both standard and modified ones like quaiffe etc.
Thats who I always go to for diff parts/advice.

Its just a standard diff and the writing itself only tells you it's a 3.9 ratio. They markings have been put on by whoever reconned the diff by the looks of it.

I'm not sure is it 7,5 or smaller 7" diff - it can be Sapphire 4x4 2.0 DOHC 7" diff, which was fitted to this cars. Was exactly 3,92 stamped on it, not 3,90 or 3,91.
You should measure diff housing - is it 7 or 7,5"...

mark the input and output flanges and tunr the input and measure the rotation so find the ratio

simples

if it's a 2.0 dohc 4x4 rear diff it will be an lsd and 7"
